Goldthorpe Engineering Services Limited is responsible for the personal information described in this notice. Enquiries and customer correspondence are handled directly by Daniel Goldthorpe.

Information GES may hold
This may include your name, company or business details, email address, telephone number, enquiry and job information, quotations, purchase orders, invoices, certificates and relevant correspondence.
Enquiries currently arrive directly by email, telephone, text or message, including WhatsApp. This website does not contain a contact form, newsletter or mailing-list signup and does not collect enquiry information through the site itself.
How information is used
GES uses relevant information to respond to enquiries, prepare quotations, arrange and carry out work, communicate about jobs, maintain quality and traceability records, issue business documents and meet legal or record-keeping obligations.
The usual legal bases are taking steps at your request before a contract, performing a contract, complying with legal obligations and GES's legitimate interests in operating and maintaining its engineering business and records.
Storage and retention
Email correspondence is retained through normal Microsoft 365 and Outlook arrangements. Quotations, invoices, certificates and job records are retained where reasonably required for business records, quality control and traceability.
Personal information is kept only for as long as reasonably required for business, legal, quality, traceability or record-keeping purposes. The relevant period depends on the type of record and the work concerned.
Sharing information
GES does not sell customer information or share it for advertising. When Daniel arranges a collection or delivery, a haulage company used by GES may receive the contact name and business collection or delivery address needed for that journey. Customer telephone numbers, email addresses and wider job information are not routinely provided to hauliers.
Website operation
GES has not added website analytics, marketing pixels or advertising tracking. The site is hosted using ChatGPT Sites, an OpenAI service. OpenAI may process technical and operational data and logs needed to host, secure, debug and enforce policies for the service. GES does not use that operational data for marketing or run its own visitor analytics.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may ask to access, correct, erase or restrict the use of your personal information, or object to its use. You may also raise a concern with the Information Commissioner's Office. Contact GES first if you would like Daniel to deal with a request or concern.
